Success And Failure Are Contagious

Have you ever heard of the saying, “you are the company you keep”?  This means that if you hang out with a bunch of successful people, you become successful.  If you hang out with a bunch of failures, you become a failure or you would be considered a failure.  The truth of the matter is that success and failure are contagious.  If you want to go from being a failure to a success, you need to surround yourself around the people that are successful in whatever you want to succeed in.  So if you want to make $1 million dollars a year, it’s a good idea to surround yourself with people who are either millionaires or people who have the same goal in mind.

There are two sides of that coin.  If you want to remain successful, you want to make sure you’re not surrounding yourself with a bunch of people who will steer you off your path.  If you’re trying to lose 25 lbs of body fat, don’t hang out with people who will entice you to eat foods that will make it harder for you to make it happen.  If these are friends and family, don’t cut them off, but you can eat at different times than them until you are solid on your eating habits.

The most trying times are when you’re first starting out.  In order to stay focused on the successful path, give yourself time before you start hanging out with people who can easily influence you to lose focus.  If you’re studying for a test, you may need a few nights to reject your friends on their invitations.  Let them know the reason why and ask for a rain check.  If you have people who will support you, go to them when you are feeling like you’re straying off course.  It’s not always easy to form new habits when those habits are the complete opposite of your bad habits.

The most successful people understand that success is contagious and are looking for as many people with the “success bug” so they’ll always have a chance to catch whatever success they have.  Click the link below to learn how to build a solid foundation of confidence that will help you on your path to success.
